CMC Methanol Plant
In 1993, Ferrostaal completed a methanol plant in Trinidad and Tobago. For the customer Caribbean Methanol Company Ltd. (CMC) Ferrostaal built a plant with a production capacity of 1,650 tonnes per day (550,000 tonnes per year). The CMC plant was the first private sector venture into the local methanol industry. Ferrostaal’s partners for this project were Johnson Matthey, ICI, and Proman.
The successful and fast carrying out of the CMC project formed the foundations of Ferrostaal’s long standing engagement in Trinidad and Tobago.
